Her old ballet studio in Phoenix is where James almost killed Bella, but was destroyed by the Cullens.
Alice and Jasper took Bella back to Phoenix to protect her from James, but he tricked her into sneaking away from them and nearly killed her until Edward and the others arrived and stopped him.
